The Original Egg
Classic breakfast, brunch, & lunch
Step into The Original Egg and waft up the aroma of some seriously genuine cooking. Since 1985, The Original Egg has been a family-owned and operated business. We are all about quality and traditions. While some of our signature dishes originated from household recipes, we also fancy creating family favorites that include just a dash of fresh flavor. We're famous for our egg creations and we'd love to think that we serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch in our blue-adorned restaurant.

We went Father's Day, so we called just in case it was busy. It was rammed. The decor is beachy blue with original artwork. We were seated by the orange juice machine. First time I ever saw that the juice is really freshly squeezed. The kids' selection is truly kiddie friendly and not an over filled plate of food. The pancakes were shaped like teddy bears or Mickey Mouse. I had the French toast, which is scrumptious. Hubby got the sampler, which is a nice sized portion. We had originally gone to use my kid's gift certificate he got from school, but it was a holiday, so we'll come back another time to use them. Service is efficient. Servers were very busy today, but they turned the orders very quickly and got people seated very quickly despite the mad rush. Reminded me of brunch places during peak hour in the Lower East Side - quick, efficient, tasty. I never knew how busy it was in here. I pass by it all the time. This means it is good and the service is great. I'd probably come back when it's less busy and not a special occasion to enjoy the meal even more.
Really great atmosphere with a slow pace. Fresh squeezed orange juice, hot coffee and pretty good mimosas make for a nice start for breakfast. The food was delicious! Take a shot on the corned beef hash and the biscuits and gravy - you might want to take a nap afterwards, but 100% worth it! Glad we made the stop!
Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice Sarasota
It was super cute. The menus were shaped like eggs and they had a lot of amazing options to pick from. Their fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. I would definitely go again.
